Alliance for Lifetime Income Joins Forces with EVERFI and Rolling Stones Production Director to Offer Financial Education to Tour Crew Members
WASHINGTON, D.C., October 7, 2021 — The Alliance for Lifetime Income today announced a strategic partnership with EVERFI, the leading Impact-as-a-Service™ education innovator to provide a bespoke financial education curriculum to the production crew of the Rolling Stones “No Filter” Tour, in a joint effort to help music and entertainment industry workers plan for their financial futures. The strategic partnership and financial education come at an important time for workers in the live entertainment industry—which employs more than 2.1 million Americans—many of whom have been forced to manage without paychecks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the sole sponsor of the Rolling Stones “No Filter” Tour, the Alliance worked with Dale “Opie” Sjkerseth, the tour’s production director, to create two bespoke programs using EVERFI’s mobile-first, online financial education platform. The curriculum includes simple lessons on managing volatile income, building emergency savings, planning for retirement, annuities (a form of protected income) and more.
“The live music and entertainment industry came to a halt in 2020, as the pandemic forced not only the ‘No Filter’ tour, but shows of all kinds, to postpone or cancel,” said Sjkerseth. “It’s been a terribly challenging 15 months for many in the industry who were out of work. I’m extremely grateful that the Alliance and EVERFI agreed to work with me to help educate my crew on financial foundations and planning for retirement.”
“EVERFI is committed to connecting education to the real world and opening new doors of opportunity for all,” said Ray Martinez, president and co-founder of EVERFI, Inc. “We firmly believe individuals must be empowered to make good financial decisions with access to financial education. Our strategic partnership with the Alliance for Lifetime Income is designed to give the keys to a better financial future to the members of the Rolling Stones’ production crew as they hit the road again.”
“The Alliance is committed to building a country where no American has to face the prospect of running out of money in retirement and we’re thankful for partners like EVERFI who can help us deliver on this vision,” said Jean Statler, CEO of the Alliance for Lifetime Income. “As we hit the road with the Rolling Stones this fall, we’re excited about the opportunity to give rock and roll fans across the country the information and tools they need to improve their financial futures.”
The Rolling Stones U.S. “No Filter” Tour started on September 26 in St. Louis and will travel to Charlotte, NC, Pittsburgh, Nashville, TN, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Tampa, FL, Dallas, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Detroit before concluding on November 20 in Austin, TX.
